Biography

Donna Boe

Donna grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, graduating from the University of New Mexico with a degree in social studies. It was at UNM that she met and married Roger Boe. Following Roger’s army tour (Tokyo) and medical school (Denver) and residency (Seattle) Donna and Roger chose Pocatello as the place they wanted to live and raise their family. The Boes have two grown children and three grandchildren.

Donna served eleven years on the Pocatello City Council, including one term as Pocatello’s first woman mayor. She also worked as an intern for Congressman Richard Stallings in his Washington D.C. office.

Donna made several work/study/mission trips to Central and South America and was an official observer for Witness for Peace of the Nicaraguan elections in 1990. She also represented the United Methodist Church at three United Nations Non-Governmental Organization Conferences.

Representative Boe has been a member of the Idaho Legislature since 1996. She is the ranking minority member of both the House Education Committee and the Judiciary and Rules Committee. Donna also serves on the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee, the committee that commissions performance evaluations of state programs and agencies. For the past two years, she has served on the Idaho Criminal Justice Commission, a commission appointed by the governor.
